Job summary

Government Recruitment Service is hiring a Technical Policy Advisor in Hastings to shape the future of low carbon fuels policy under the Renewable Transport Fuel Obligation (RTFO). You will provide technical expertise on low carbon fuels, sustainability and climate change, and collaborate with government, industry and stakeholders to develop evidence-based policies supporting transport decarbonisation.

The role involves drafting technical content, briefing Ministers, and ensuring RTFO alignment

Qualifications

Technical expertise on low carbon fuels, sustainability and climate change.
Experience translating evidence into policy advice for government.
Ability to work with government, industry and stakeholders.

Responsibilities

Support the development of DfT positions and policy on RTFO technical issues.
Input to high-quality advice and briefing to Ministers using the evidence base.
Drafting technical content such as consultation or response documents.
Collaborate with the Low Carbon Fuels Delivery Unit to implement RTFO in line with policy.
Work with modal, strategy, legal, analytical, commercial and corporate finance teams.
Engage with stakeholders in industry and other government departments.
