Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled Technical Operations Manager to lead technical governance and design standards within a growing Independent Distribution Network Operator (IDNO). This is a pivotal role focused on the development and oversight of network asset adoption procedures, operational processes, and design compliance across 11kV to 132kV electricity distribution networks.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead the development and maintenance of all technical processes and procedures related to asset adoption and network operations.
Implement class-leading asset management and inspection operating procedures.
Act as the technical authority to ensure consistent application of design and construction standards across the network.
Manage the creation, revision and compliance of technical publications including G81 documents and EHV/132kV specifications.
Oversee and drive performance of the internal design function, ensuring compliance with regulated guaranteed standards of performance.
Conduct technical audits on Independent Connection Providers (ICPs) and ensure adherence to company standards.
Engage and support ICPs to ensure understanding and compliance with IDNO technical requirements.
Candidate Requirements:
Degree-qualified engineer with strong design experience in electricity distribution networks (11kV to 132kV).
Experience working in a technical or operational capacity within electricity distribution.
Strong knowledge of regulatory and technical standards in electricity distribution (design, materials, construction).
Good understanding of UK health and safety legislation relevant to electricity networks.
Proficient in AutoCAD and electricity network modelling software.
Excellent communication skills with confidence in client-facing roles.
Desirable:
Chartered Engineer status (CEng).
Operational site attendance or field-based experience.
