Job summary

Allscreens Nationwide Ltd. in Invergordon is seeking a Technical Officer (Repairs/Voids) on a 3‑month contract to deliver repairs, void refurbishments and planned maintenance across a varied housing portfolio.

You will inspect properties, monitor contractor performance, and ensure works meet quality, budget and timescales while upholding health and safety standards and housing quality regulations.

Qualifications

  • At least three years' experience in construction, repairs, maintenance or property-related roles.
  • Experience identifying and diagnosing building defects and overseeing repairs/voids works.
  • Knowledge of repairs, maintenance and planned works programmes.
  • Strong understanding of building construction and maintenance principles.
  • Good working knowledge of Health & Safety legislation.
  • Excellent organisational, communication and report-writing skills.
  • Strong IT skills, including Microsoft 365 applications.
  • Ability to manage a varied workload and prioritise effectively.
  • Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel throughout the Highlands.
  • Experience working within the social housing sector.
  • Knowledge of SHQS, EESSH and wider housing compliance requirements.
  • Experience managing repairs and void properties.
  • Knowledge of current Building Regulations, CDM Regulations and asset management principles.

Responsibilities

  • Undertake property inspections and diagnose building defects, producing reports and recommendations.
  • Manage repairs and void property works, ensuring properties are returned to a lettable standard within agreed timescales.
  • Monitor contractor performance, quality and compliance with contractual obligations.
  • Conduct pre and post inspections of maintenance, repairs and planned works.
  • Complete stock condition surveys and maintain accurate asset information.
  • Support the delivery of planned and cyclical maintenance programmes.
  • Work with tenants to address issues such as damp and mould, providing support, guidance and effective solutions.
  • Ensure compliance with Health & Safety legislation and housing quality standards.
  • Attend contractor meetings and monitor KPI performance.
  • Maintain accurate records, reports and customer interactions using housing management and asset systems.

Technical Officer (Repairs/Voids) - 3 months

Hays are delighted to be partnering with a leading Housing Association to recruit a Technical Officer to join their Property Services team based in Invergordon. (3 Month Contract)

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced property, construction or maintenance professional to play a key role in delivering a high-quality repairs and voids service across a varied housing portfolio. Working closely with internal teams, contractors and tenants, you will help ensure homes are maintained to a high standard, meet regulatory requirements and provide safe, comfortable living environments for residents.

The RoleAs a Technical Officer, you will be responsible for supporting the delivery of repairs, void property refurbishments, planned maintenance programmes and compliance activities across the housing stock. You will carry out property inspections, diagnose building defects, monitor contractor performance and ensure works are completed to the required quality, budget and timescale.You will also play a key role in ensuring properties meet all relevant health and safety and housing quality standards, whilst delivering an excellent service to tenants and stakeholders.
