Job summary

A well-established Housing Association in West Glasgow requires a Maintenance Officer on a 6-month temporary contract to deliver high-quality repairs and maintenance across the housing stock.

You will manage reactive repairs, inspect properties, support planned maintenance, coordinate with contractors and tenants, and ensure health and safety compliance and re-let readiness.

Qualifications

• Experience in a similar role within a housing association or local authority.
• Strong knowledge of building maintenance, repairs diagnosis and contractor management.
• Excellent communication skills with a customer-focused approach.
• Ability to work independently and manage a varied workload.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day reactive repairs, ensuring works are completed on time and to a high standard.
• Carry out property inspections, post-inspections and diagnose required works.
• Support delivery of cyclical and planned maintenance programmes.
• Liaise with contractors, tenants and internal teams to ensure a smooth and customer-focused service.
• Monitor contractor performance, costs and compliance with service standards.
• Maintain accurate records using the Association's housing/repairs systems.
• Ensure all works comply with relevant health & safety, statutory and regulatory requirements.
• Assist with void inspections and ensuring properties are prepared for re-let.
