Job summary

Reed Specialist Recruitment Ltd. is assisting a respected food manufacturer in the Worcestershire area to appoint a Technical Manager.

You will support the Head of Technical across technical and compliance activities, maintaining site standards and driving continuous improvement in quality systems. The role offers a collaborative environment with a flat structure, opportunities for audits, and long‑term career development, including support for further qualifications.

Qualifications

• Background in food manufacturing is essential.
• Experience in technical, quality or compliance roles is required.
• HACCP Level 3 or 4 qualification.
• Food Safety Level 3 or 4 qualification.
• Strong understanding of food safety, quality systems and audit requirements.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills are essential.

Responsibilities

• Support the Head of Technical with day-to-day management of technical and quality systems.
• Ensure site compliance with all food safety, quality and legal requirements.
• Maintain and develop HACCP systems and associated documentation.
• Lead and support customer, retailer and third-party audits.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives across technical and operational functions.
• Manage internal audits and corrective action programmes.
• Assist with investigations relating to quality incidents, customer complaints and non-conformances.
• Support training and development initiatives across the wider business.
• Collaborate with production and operational teams to maintain high standards.
• Ensure all technical documentation and records are maintained accurately.
