Job summary

Sapien, an established engineering manufacturer, is recruiting a Sales Executive for the North of the UK from its Huddersfield area. You will own the full sales cycle, develop existing relationships, win new business and drive revenue growth across the northern territory.

The role combines field and remote work, requiring regular travel to customer sites, deliver quotations and presentations, and communicate the technical and commercial benefits of packaging machinery and process equipment.

Qualifications

• Proven track record of achieving or exceeding sales targets.
• Previous experience selling packaging machinery, industrial machinery, engineering equipment or related technical products.
• Strong sales and negotiation skills, with the ability to convert opportunities into revenue.
• Experience managing the full sales cycle, from initial prospecting through to closing deals.
• Excellent relationship-building, communication and presentation skills.
• The ability to understand and communicate complex technical products and solutions effectively.
• A proactive, commercially minded approach to business development and account management.
• A strong engineering background or technical understanding is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Achieve and exceed annual sales targets within the allocated territory.
• Identify and develop new business opportunities while expanding the existing customer base.
• Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with customers and key stakeholders.
• Meet with customers to understand their operational requirements, commercial objectives and technical needs.
• Manage the full sales process, from prospecting and lead qualification through to quotation, negotiation and order completion.
• Prepare and deliver quotations, sales proposals and presentations.
• Communicate the technical and commercial benefits of products and solutions through telephone, email and face-to-face meetings.
• Monitor sales performance, contribute to sales planning and manage expenditure effectively.
