Pulse Group in London is seeking a Technical Lead to own an established engineering team and steer a major new-build programme. You will balance hands-on technical work with people leadership, mentoring engineers, shaping architecture, and collaborating with Product and Architecture to deliver scalable order and fulfilment journeys.

This genuine player-coach role offers hands-on coding when valuable, with 2 days per week in North Acton, London, and a clear path to drive technical direction

Qualifications

• Experience leading engineering teams.
• Strong software engineering background to remain technically credible with engineers.
• Ability to set technical direction and review design decisions.

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor and develop a team of Software Engineers and QA Engineers.
• Set technical direction without bottlenecks.
• Collaborate with Product and Architecture on solution design.
• Review PRs and provide technical guidance.
• Hands-on contribution through occasional POCs where valuable.
• Improve engineering standards, scalability and resilience.
• Deliver the technical delivery of a major new-build programme.
• Collaborate across internal services and third-party platforms.
