Job summary

numi is seeking a Tech Lead at London Bridge to set the technical pace while remaining a hands-on contributor. This role reports to the Director of Engineering and balances delivery, quality and long-term health; leadership by example, not people management.

The team is lean and uses LLMs and coding agents to boost throughput. You will work across .NET, Node.js/TypeScript, Python, AWS, Kubernetes, and AI capabilities, aligning APIs and cloud-native services to business value.

Tech Lead - London Bridge · Hybrid, 2 days/week · Individual contributor, no direct reports · Competitive base + benefits

We're running a confidential search for a small, ambitious engineering team that wants a Tech Lead who leads by building — not from a whiteboard. You'll set the technical direction and standards while staying a credible, hands‑on contributor, working alongside the Director of Engineering and product to balance delivery, quality and long‑term technical health. Leadership here is through example and influence, not line management. And because the team is lean, getting real, responsible leverage from LLMs and coding agents is part of the job.

The stack: .NET, Node.js/TypeScript and Python; Angular; RabbitMQ and Celery; AWS (EKS, RDS); Kubernetes via ArgoCD/Terraform; and AI capabilities using LLMs, embeddings and vector search.

You’ll bring:

• A track record leading technical delivery of production software while still contributing regularly to the code
• Strong system-design judgement across APIs, distributed services and cloud-native apps
• Commercial experience with more than one of .NET, TypeScript/Node.js and Python
• Practical AWS, Kubernetes and modern delivery know-how — CI/CD, GitOps, observability
• A history of simplifying systems and improving reliability without losing sight of customer value
• Clear communication and a collaborative, decisive leadership style
• Confident, disciplined use of LLMs or coding agents to lift team throughput
• Bonus: AI-enabled features, RAG or production LLM integrations; high-volume ingestion, queues or vector databases; infrastructure-as-code at AWS scale; small SaaS/data-product experience.
