Job summary

WelcomeTrack in London seeks an Engineering Manager to lead a squad of software engineers as the technical backbone, coaching team members while delivering complex projects. The role prioritizes technical excellence, collaboration with Product and Design, and scalable processes across global teams.

You will drive hiring, prioritization and feedback, ensuring high velocity with quality. Hands-on influence exists but delivery is measured by the team’s outcomes and engineering standards.

Qualifications

• 7–12 years in engineering with 2–5 years leading a team in a product-focused company.
• Strong track record shipping with Product and Design, even when plans change.
• High standards for testing, CI/CD, observability and disciplined releases.
• Coaching instinct with clear expectations and honest feedback.
• Clear communication across levels; French-speaking skills are a plus but not required.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Product Managers & Designers on roadmap, project management and daily tasks.
• Maintain oversight of architecture, code quality, and technical decisions without shipping code.
• Ensure velocity and quality targets are met; monitor KPIs and release practices.
• Drive AI adoption and productivity tools within the team.
• Lead recruitment, development, and retention in partnership with People teams.
• Foster team cohesion, motivation and growth of junior engineers.
