Adria Solutions is recruiting a Technical Lead for a fintech payments platform. This hybrid Manchester-based role combines hands-on development with architectural leadership, guiding a small engineering team through secure, reliable service delivery.

You will shape architecture, mentor engineers, and drive code quality while leveraging AI coding tools and ensuring compliance with card schemes and security requirements. The role offers growth impact in an early-stage fintech environment.

Qualifications

• Proficient in Java, Kotlin or Scala across services and platforms.
• Experience building asynchronous, event-driven systems.
• Mentor engineers and guide small teams in delivery and design.
• Strong database experience (PostgreSQL, MySQL, SQL Server, DynamoDB or Cosmos DB).
• Experience integrating third‑party services and APIs.
• Regular use of AI coding tools in an enterprise workflow.
• Solid knowledge of automated testing, version control, CI/CD and secure coding.
• Able to own features from design through deployment in a fintech context.

Responsibilities

• Design and build payments services using Java, Kotlin or Scala.
• Develop asynchronous, event-driven systems for card and payment processing.
• Remain hands-on while providing technical direction to the team.
• Mentor engineers and review code to resolve blockers.
• Ensure compliance with card schemes and security standards.
• Integrate third-party services and manage connected payments challenges.
• Shape architecture decisions and establish engineering standards.
• Improve CI/CD pipelines with platform engineers.
• Guide the team’s use of AI coding tools.
• Own features through design, development, testing, deployment and support.
