Job summary

Adria Solutions Ltd. is seeking a Senior Backend Engineer for a fintech platform developing digital financial services. Based in Manchester with hybrid working, you’ll own features from design to production and work with AI-enabled tooling to enhance delivery and security.

You'll collaborate across product, design and engineering teams, owning API design, backend services and integration with banking and payments partners. The role offers growth and influence on technology direction.

Qualifications

• At least five years’ commercial software development experience.
• Strong experience developing Node.js backend systems.
• Proven API design and implementation skills.
• Experience with relational databases, including PostgreSQL, MySQL or SQL Server.
• Background in integrating external services.
• Confidence using AI coding tools within an enterprise production development workflow.
• Strong knowledge of automated testing, Git, CI/CD and secure development practices.
• The ability to work independently and take ownership in a growing team.
• An interest in financial technology and improving access to financial services.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain backend applications using Node.js.
• Develop APIs, database services and event-driven systems.
• Connect the platform with banking, payments and third-party services through REST and GraphQL integrations.
• Use AI coding tools to improve delivery while maintaining rigorous testing, security and code quality.
• Develop and deploy practical AI features that improve customer experiences and business processes.
• Own implementation, testing, deployment and ongoing support.
• Contribute to architecture, code reviews and engineering standards.
• Work collaboratively across product, design, platform and payments teams.
