Job summary

Legal & General is seeking a Technical Lead to shape the technology landscape in London. You will guide engineering teams to build secure, scalable solutions using AWS serverless and microservices patterns, while driving observability and high-quality delivery.

You will influence architecture, tooling and investment decisions, mentor engineers, and promote a culture of collaboration and inclusion across multiple squads.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated technical leadership across large engineering teams.
• Strong experience with cloud-native architectures and serverless patterns.
• Proficient in Java, Node.js and Spring Framework, with modern Agile delivery.

Responsibilities

• Define and lead engineering strategy and long-term technical direction.
• Drive quality through automation, testing standards and governance.
• Promote secure-by-design principles and security best practices.
• Develop observability—logging, metrics, tracing and alerting.
• Mentor engineers and foster a culture of continuous improvement.
