Job summary

Legal & General in the UK is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to design, build, and evolve cloud-native platforms. You will apply deep technical expertise and a customer-first mindset to deliver secure, scalable software using AWS serverless tech and MongoDB.

You’ll mentor engineers, shape technical direction, reduce debt, and uphold SSDLC within an Agile team, delivering quality software that supports our customers and business goals.

Qualifications

• Strong expertise in modern software engineering and cloud-native design.
• Hands-on experience delivering serverless solutions on AWS.
• Deep MongoDB experience including aggregation pipelines and schema design.
• Proven ability to lead, mentor and coach engineers in Agile teams.

Responsibilities

• Own design and delivery of high-quality software across features and services.
• Build and operate secure, scalable AWS serverless applications.
• Lead code reviews, improve architecture, and reduce technical debt.
• Define test strategies focusing on security, accessibility, and resilience.
