Job summary

Owen Daniels are supporting a leading manufacturer of passenger information systems in their search for a German-speaking Technical Engineer to join their growing technical team. You will provide technical support to customers and internal stakeholders, working across projects from initial consultation through to implementation and ongoing support.

The successful candidate will act as a key technical contact for customers in Germany, supporting installation, integration, and ongoing performance

Qualifications

• Fluent German and English language skills.
• Degree qualification in Electronics, Software Engineering, CS, or related discipline.
• Knowledge of programming languages such as Python, C, C++, Lua, or .NET.
• Experience configuring and troubleshooting Ethernet networks.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Excellent organisational and communication abilities.
• Full driving licence and willingness to travel internationally.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support to customers via telephone, email, and site visits.
• Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and networking issues.
• Support integration of onboard systems and software.
• Assist with system installations, upgrades, and retrofits at customer sites.
• Collaborate with customers, integrators, and engineering teams on solutions.
• Create and maintain customer databases, documentation, and records.
• Deliver technical training to customers and colleagues.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives and process enhancements.
• Travel regularly to Germany and occasionally internationally to support projects.

We're looking for a technically minded individual with strong communication skills who has a customer-focused approach; as the Technical Engineer, you will provide technical support to customers and internal stakeholders, working across a variety of projects from initial consultation through to implementation and ongoing support.

The successful candidate will act as a key technical contact for customers in Germany, supporting the installation, integration, and ongoing performance of advanced hardware and software solutions used within the public transport sector.

Technical Engineer (German Speaking)

Job Description

• Providing technical support to customers via telephone, email, and site visits.
• Diagnosing and resolving hardware, software, and networking issues.
• Supporting the integration of onboard systems and associated software.
• Assisting with system installations, upgrades, and retrofits at customer sites.
• Working closely with customers, integrators, and internal engineering teams to deliver technical solutions.
• Creating and maintaining customer databases, documentation, and technical records.
• Delivering technical training to customers and colleagues.
• Supporting continuous improvement initiatives and process enhancements.
• Travelling regularly to Germany and occasionally internationally to support customers and projects.
