Job summary

AECOM is seeking a Technical Director / Associate Director for the Ground Engineering Team in the UK. You will drive technical development, lead client relationships and oversee geotechnical design across multi-disciplinary projects.

The role requires Chartered status, a Civil Engineering degree (2:1+), and strong knowledge of UK ground conditions with a focus on mentoring and team leadership within a hybrid work model.

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil Engineering with 2:1 or higher.
• MSc/MEng in Soil Mechanics or Geotechnical Engineering is advantageous.
• Chartered status and strong UK ground conditions knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Oversee input, review and verify geotechnical data and analyses and design calculations.
• Provide consultative advice through all project stages including site-selection and optioneering.
• Manage geotechnical projects, schedules, coordination and budgets.
• Lead the Ground Engineering team to deliver high-quality outputs for clients.
• Build relationships with internal and external stakeholders to sustain opportunities.
• Collaborate with Transport, Water, Energy and Buildings teams on projects and tenders.
• Mentor junior engineers and support their development.
