Job summary

AECOM is seeking an experienced Technical Director for Design Management to lead safety-critical design work on a major defence infrastructure programme in Adelaide, with relocation support. You will lead integrated design teams across Australia and the UK, ensuring design quality and timely delivery while working within NSQEP frameworks.

The role requires 25+ years delivering complex projects in regulated industries, chartered status, and strong stakeholder engagement.

Qualifications

Degree-qualified in Engineering or related technical discipline; postgraduate qualifications highly regarded.
25+ years delivering complex projects in defence, nuclear or highly regulated industries.
Chartered status or professional membership with a recognised industry body.
Experience working within NSQEP framework is highly regarded; capability to work in NSQEP environment encouraged.

Responsibilities

Lead integrated design teams across Australia and the UK to deliver high-quality outcomes.
Provide technical leadership across complex process systems, focusing on radiological waste management and supporting infrastructure.
Guide design integration across disciplines and manage project risks.
Support the Design Lead with technical advice and representation in senior forums.
Mentor engineers and build NSQEP capability across the programme.
Build trusted client and stakeholder relationships and contribute to business growth.
