Job summary

Sudlows in Manchester is seeking an experienced M&E Design Lead to act as the technical authority on data centre and critical infrastructure projects. The role requires regular UK travel and occasional travel within Europe, based at our Manchester head office.

You will lead design across mechanical and electrical disciplines, develop and review engineering solutions, and ensure resilience, buildability and compliance throughout feasibility, bids, construction and commissioning.

Qualifications

• Experience leading M&E design on complex projects.
• Ability to coordinate multidisciplinary building services integration.
• Strong client communication and presentation skills.
• Experience with data centre or critical environments desirable.
• Ability to produce and approve engineering designs.

Responsibilities

• Lead multidisciplinary M&E design from feasibility to handover.
• Define design strategy and technical requirements with clients.
• Coordinate mechanical, electrical, controls, fire and specialist systems.
• Develop proposals and tender solutions that are compliant and practical.
• Mentor engineers and improve design standards.
• Support procurement, construction and commissioning teams.
• Ensure design solutions are resilient, safe, and compliant.
