Job summary

Sudlows in Manchester is seeking an experienced M&E Design Lead to act as the technical authority on complex data centre projects, including feasibility, bids, live projects and commissioning.

You will lead multidisciplinary building services design, coordinate mechanical, electrical, controls, fire and specialist systems, and ensure designs are resilient, buildable and compliant with client, regulatory and programme requirements.

Qualifications

• Mechanical or electrical/building services degree or equivalent
• Significant M&E design experience with multidisciplinary coordination
• Ability to produce, review and approve engineering designs
• Data centre or high-availability/regulated sector experience preferred
• Strong communication and presentation skills
• Proficient with CAD, Revit and BIM workflows
• Must be able to travel within the UK and Europe

Responsibilities

• Lead technical design across feasibility to handover for M&E projects
• Act as technical authority for building services decisions
• Coordinate mechanical, electrical, controls, fire and specialist systems
• Define design strategy and technical requirements with clients
• Mentor engineers and improve design standards
• Support procurement, construction and commissioning teams
