Responsibilities:

Responsible for all aspects of product quality.

Assist the QA/Technical Manager in implementing food safety, quality, and hygiene systems across the UK business.

Provide competent and efficient technical administrative support to both internal and external customers.

Maintain site technical systems and ensure compliance against customer standards.

Teamwork
  • Support other members of the Technical team regarding issues as they arise.
  • Deputise for other team members when required.
  • Work closely with members of other teams throughout the Group.
  • Actively assist others in finding solutions to problems.
  • Contribute ideas and solutions to improve the team’s service delivery.
  • Cover for other team members in their absence.
  • Ensure a close working relationship between team members within the department.
Communication
  • Communicate clearly and effectively with individuals within the business, Group, suppliers, and customers to ensure good working relationships.
  • Keep the Technical Manager fully informed and up-to-date on any issues.
  • Convey clear, timely, and positive messages that influence the thoughts and actions of others.
  • Share information appropriately, ensuring all persons are involved in key decisions within the department (UK & Group).
Strategic
  • Understand the importance of HACCP and work closely with colleagues throughout the business to maintain the necessary standards.
  • Champion the use of the highest quality raw materials and finished products.
  • Ensure the safety, quality, and legality of products packed in our UK factory.
  • Ensure all suppliers understand the importance of high-quality raw materials.
  • Maintain the company's focus on quality products through communication and education.
  • Assist the Technical Manager with ad hoc projects.
Analytical
  • Ensure all documentation is completed in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Embrace the QMS system as a tool for continual improvement.
Responsibilities & Expertise
  • Maintain a clear food supply chain database.
  • Conduct swabbing in the factory.
  • Liaise on requirements and quality issues with the inventory team and group supplier assurance team, when necessary.
  • Liaise with customers, consumers, and suppliers as needed.
  • Lead customer code of practice adherence, analyze customer requirements, and handle Food Safety matters during customer visits and audits.
  • Complete and update customer specifications and manage consumer complaints, corrective actions, and resolutions.
  • Audit and maintain quality assurance records, including internal audits like Site Training and Critical Control Points.
  • Keep QMS documentation up-to-date and improve it where needed.
  • Provide information to Technologists based on customer requests.
  • Lead or support customer audits at the site.
  • Communicate confidently with staff and customers.
Compliance
  • Maintain a full understanding of legal requirements within the department and business to operate in full legal compliance.
