Job description

An established and well-regarded online retailer is looking to hire an experienced Technical Author. If you’re looking for flexibility, creative freedom, and are passionate about making a real difference to customer experience – this is the job for you.

THE ROLE

You will be responsible for the creation of product specification documents containing accurate, clear, and detailed information to allow the overseas manufacturing facilities to manufacture the products to the correct technical specifications.

1. Working closely with the Design/ Quality Compliance to create accurate specifications for products / manuals / labelling and other technical information.
2. Continuously update and amend for changing specifications.
3. Ensure instruction manuals and labels meet the requirements of internationally recognised safety & quality standards.
4. Responsible for communication and transfer of design and engineering documents to and from multiple overseas manufacturing facilities to ensure full traceability of products.
5. Assisting the Quality Manager with the creation of quality inspection checklists.
6. Expert knowledge using Adobe Creative Suite.

To be successful in this role, you will have demonstrable experience in technical writing for consumer goods. Strong attention to detail and experienced in using Solidworks and Adobe suite. Previous experience with product photography is desirable.
