Job summary

This is Alexander Faraday Limited, a world-class engineering manufacturer, is seeking an experienced Technical Author to join our publications team in the UK. You’ll produce and update technical documents, specifications, and drawings for global customers, ensuring accuracy and compliance with process standards.

You’ll collaborate with engineering, design and production to resolve queries, review material for clarity, and participate in hands-on validation using tooling and engineering processes

Qualifications

• Strong experience producing technical publications within engineering/manufacturing.
• Excellent understanding of industry standards and technical communication methods.
• Practical exposure to mechanical engineering concepts and simplified technical English.
• Able to communicate effectively and work independently or as part of a team.
• Detail-oriented, with a strong focus on quality and consistency.
• City & Guilds in Technical Communication or similar is beneficial, but not required.

Responsibilities

• Creating and updating technical publications, build plans, and test procedures used by manufacturing and customer teams
• Interpreting and referencing engineering drawings, CAD models, production standards, and support analysis records
• Collaborating with engineering, design, and production departments to resolve technical queries
• Reviewing and proofreading documents to meet internal quality and compliance requirements
• Participating in hands‑on validation using tooling, equipment, and engineering processes
