SRG are recruiting a Technical Assessor in Merseyside to apply chemistry knowledge in a practical waste environment and to make technical decisions that ensure safe, compliant waste management.

The role suits an experienced Site Chemist seeking a more office‑based technical position, with ongoing training opportunities and progression. Recent chemistry graduates will also be considered for a compliance‑focused role, not a lab environment. You will contribute to quotations and customer support.

Qualifications

• HND/HNC or BSc in Chemistry or a course with significant chemistry content.
• Previous experience as a Site Chemist with knowledge of chemical waste analysis.
• Must have full right to work in the UK; no sponsorship provided.

Responsabilités

• Assess technical and chemical waste enquiries from customers and sales teams.
• Identify suitable disposal routes for packaged and bulk waste.
• Produce accurate quotations in line with legislation, permits and commercial requirements.
• Coordinate laboratory testing where further waste analysis is required.
• Provide technical advice to customers and internal teams on waste acceptance and disposal.
• Manage non‑conformances and support waste acceptance activities within quality and safety standards.
• Build strong working relationships with third‑party treatment and disposal partners.

In this role, you'll apply your chemistry knowledge in a practical waste environment, making technical decisions and helping ensure waste is managed safely, efficiently and compliantly.

This role would suit an experienced Site Chemist looking to move into a more office‑based technical position.

Recent Chemistry graduates will also be considered, provided they are keen to develop within a compliance‑focused role rather than a laboratory environment.
