Job summary

SRG is hiring a Technical Waste Assessor in Merseyside to transform chemistry knowledge into compliant waste management decisions. The role focuses on assessing enquiries, identifying disposal routes, and producing quotations within regulatory and commercial requirements.

Ideal candidates have a chemistry background and site chemist experience, with a keen eye for safety, quality, and customer support. Permanent, 40 hours/week, with ongoing development opportunities and pension contributions.

Qualifications

• HND/HNC or BSc in Chemistry or related course with significant chemistry content.
• Experience as a Site Chemist or similar role with waste analysis knowledge.
• Right to work in the UK; no sponsorship available.

Responsibilities

• Assess technical and chemical waste enquiries from customers and sales teams.
• Identify suitable disposal routes for packaged and bulk waste.
• Produce accurate quotations in line with legislation, permits and commercial requirements.
• Coordinate laboratory testing where further waste analysis is required.
• Provide technical advice on waste acceptance and disposal to customers and internal teams.
• Manage non-conformances and support waste acceptance within quality and safety standards.
• Build relationships with third-party treatment and disposal partners.

Title: Technical Waste Assessor

They are now looking for a Technical Assessor to join the team. In this role, you'll apply your chemistry knowledge in a practical waste environment, making technical decisions and helping ensure waste is managed safely, efficiently and compliantly. This role would suit an experienced Site Chemist looking to move into a more office-based technical position. Recent Chemistry graduates will also be considered, provided they are keen to develop within a compliance-focused role rather than a laboratory environment.

Requirements

• HND/HNC or BSC in Chemistry or course with significant chemistry content.
• Previous experience in a Site Chemist role, with knowledge of chemical waste analysis and waste management processes, is preferred
• Must have full right to work in the UK there is no sponsorship available for this role.
