Job summary

Simplyhealth is seeking a Technical Accountant to safeguard financial reporting, controls and regulatory compliance within the UK. You will act as a trusted technical expert, supporting senior stakeholders and auditors while partnering with Finance teams to translate complex accounting into business insight.

• Providing technical accounting guidance on complex accounting and regulatory matters.
• Supporting the production of accurate management accounts and month-end reporting.
• Leading balance sheet reviews, financial analysis and variance reporting.
• Maintaining a strong financial control environment and governance across Finance.
• Supporting budgeting, forecasting, cash flow, and balance sheet planning.
• Producing reporting packs for senior stakeholders and the Board.
• Supporting statutory reporting, audits, and regulatory submissions.
• Partnering with Commercial Finance, FP&A and operations to provide insights.
• Driving continuous improvement across financial processes and data quality.
• Leveraging Dynamics 365, Power BI, Excel and AI-enabled tools to enhance analysis.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical accounting guidance and prepare technical papers on complex accounting and regulatory matters.
• Support the production of accurate management accounts, journals, reconciliations and month-end reporting.
• Lead balance sheet reviews, financial analysis and variance reporting.
• Maintain a strong financial control environment and support governance processes across Finance.
• Support budgeting, forecasting and planning activities, including cash flow forecasting and balance sheet planning.
• Produce reporting and insight packs for senior stakeholders, committees, executive leadership and the Board.
• Support statutory reporting, audit activity and regulatory submissions.
• Partner with Commercial Finance, FP&A and operational teams to provide financial insight and challenge.
• Drive continuous improvement across financial processes, data quality and reporting.
• Leverage tools such as Microsoft Dynamics 365, Power BI, Excel and emerging AI-enabled solutions to improve analysis and reporting.
