Job summary

Simplyhealth is seeking a Technical Accountant to ensure accurate financial reporting, robust controls, and regulatory compliance across the UK. You will act as a trusted technical expert, partnering with Finance, auditors and senior stakeholders to translate complex accounting into actionable insights.

The role supports month-end and year-end processes, drives process improvements, and leverages Dynamics 365, Power BI, Excel and AI-enabled tools to enhance analysis and reporting.

Responsibilities

• Providing technical accounting guidance and preparing technical papers on complex accounting and regulatory matters.
• Supporting the production of accurate management accounts, journals, reconciliations and month-end reporting.
• Leading balance sheet reviews, financial analysis and variance reporting.
• Maintaining a strong financial control environment and supporting governance processes across Finance.
• Supporting budgeting, forecasting and planning activities, including cash flow forecasting and balance sheet planning.
• Producing reporting and insight packs for senior stakeholders, committees, executive leadership and the Board.
• Supporting statutory reporting, audit activity and regulatory submissions.
• Partnering with Commercial Finance, FP&A and operational teams to provide financial insight and challenge.
• Driving continuous improvement across financial processes, data quality and reporting.
• Leveraging tools such as Microsoft Dynamics 365, Power BI, Excel and emerging AI-enabled solutions to improve analysis and reporting.
