Job summary

Simplyhealth in the UK is seeking a Financial Reporting Accountant to ensure accurate, timely and robust financial reporting, supporting decision‑making across the business.

This hands-on role covers month-end close, variance analysis, payroll controls and statutory reporting, with exposure to Microsoft Dynamics 365, Power BI and Excel to drive insights and strengthen financial controls.

Responsibilities

• Preparing accurate monthly management accounts, including journals, accruals, prepayments, reconciliations and supporting schedules.
• Supporting month-end close activities and ensuring financial information is delivered accurately and on time.
• Maintaining a strong financial control environment through robust reconciliations, analytical reviews and issue resolution.
• Producing insightful variance analysis and commentary against budget, forecast and prior year performance.
• Acting as the finance lead for payroll accounting and associated controls and reporting.
• Supporting claims provision calculations and Solvency UK reporting activities.
• Partnering with Finance and operational stakeholders to provide insight, challenge and support effective decision‑making.
• Supporting budgeting, forecasting and planning activities.
• Producing management information, reporting packs and Board-level reporting.
• Supporting year-end reporting, statutory accounts preparation and audit activities.
• Identifying opportunities to improve financial reporting processes, controls and data quality.
