Job summary

Ryft is seeking a Tech Lead to head the Card Present squad, owning technical direction and hands-on delivery across in-person payments. You will bridge cloud infrastructure with physical hardware, architecting low-latency, secure flows between terminals and a scalable AWS backend.

You will lead a squad, mentor engineers, and shape the technical strategy for our physical terminal estate while contributing to the broader event-driven .NET service estate and observability tooling.

Qualifications

• Proven experience leading technical projects and guiding small teams.
• Extensive production backend experience; C#/.NET preferred or quickly fluent in another modern language.
• Hands-on AWS experience with ECS/Fargate, Lambda, SQS/SNS, DynamoDB.
• Ability to reason about service boundaries, async messaging, and eventual consistency.
• Comfort using AI coding tools while owning the output end-to-end.
• Fast and autonomous learner with hardware-software interoperability curiosity.

Responsibilities

• Architect, build, and ship end-to-end features for the card-present offering.
• Design for hardware-cloud correctness during network drops and partial failures.
• Mentor and raise the bar in engineering practices within your squad.
• Own production instrumentation, alerting, and incident response.
• Collaborate with managers, product teams, and hardware vendors to deliver omnichannel features.
