Job summary

Adria Solutions Ltd. is seeking a hands-on Technical Lead for a fintech payments platform in Manchester. You will shape architecture, contribute production code and guide engineers delivering the platform in a hybrid setup.

Reporting to the CTO, you will lead technical delivery across the payments system, mentor engineers and ensure high standards for code quality, testing and security, while applying AI coding tools in daily development.

Qualifications

• Eight+ years of commercial software development experience.
• Strong expertise in Java, Kotlin or Scala.
• Experience building asynchronous, event-driven systems.
• Mentoring and supporting small engineering teams.
• Solid database experience (PostgreSQL, MySQL, SQL Server, DynamoDB or Cosmos DB).
• Experience integrating third-party services and AI tooling.
• Strong testing, version control, CI/CD and secure coding practices.
• Willingness to take ownership in an early-stage fintech environment.

Responsibilities

• Design and build payments services using Java, Kotlin or Scala.
• Develop asynchronous, event-driven systems for card and payment processing.
• Code actively while providing technical direction to the team.
• Mentor engineers and review code to remove blockers.
• Ensure compliance with card schemes and security standards.
• Integrate third-party services and manage connected payments systems.
• Shape architecture decisions and engineering standards.
• Improve CI/CD pipelines with platform engineers.
• Guide teams in using AI coding tools and own features end-to-end.
• Collaborate with product, design and broader engineering teams.
