Job summary

Belong Birkdale is opening a new village and seeks compassionate care staff to support older adults, including those living with dementia. You will deliver personal care, administer medications, prepare meals, and keep accurate care plans and records.

You may deputise for the Team Leader and contribute to a friendly, dignified, wellbeing-focused environment. We offer £14.45 per hour with full-time and part-time opportunities, a values-driven not-for-profit setting, training, DBS support,

Qualifications

• Level 2 qualification in Health and Social Care is essential.
• Experience supporting older people, particularly with dementia.
• Experience administering and recording medication.
• Experience updating care plans and resident records.
• Eligible to work in the UK and able to commute to Birkdale.

Belong is an innovative not-for-profit provider of person-centred care for older people, specialising in dementia care. With the opening of our brand-new village in Birkdale, there has never been a more exciting time to join Belong and be part of something special from the very beginning.

What You'll Be Doing

• Delivering high-quality personal care
• Administering and managing medication
• Supporting customers living with dementia
• Preparing and cooking meals within the household
• Maintaining and updating care plans and daily records
• Deputising for the Team Leader when required
• Promoting dignity, independence, and wellbeing for all customers

What We're Looking For

Essential Requirements

• Level 2 qualification (or above) in Health and Social Care
• Experience supporting older people, particularly in a dementia care setting
• Experience administering and recording medication accurately
• Experience updating care plans and resident records
• Eligible to work in the UK
• Ability to commute to Birkdale and surrounding areas
• Availability to work a variety of shifts, including:

• 8:00am to 3:00pm
• 3:00pm to 10:00pm
• Occasional long-day shifts
• Alternate weekends (Saturday and Sunday)

Desirable Experience

• Leading shifts and deputising for a Team Leader
• Completing staff supervisions and appraisals
• Completing safeguarding documentation and managing safeguarding concerns
