Job summary

Belong Birkdale is seeking an experienced Team Lead to guide a household of older people, including those living with dementia, ensuring person-centred care and high standards. You will lead a team of Support Workers, coordinate rotas, oversee medications and maintain care plans with a focus on dignity and independence.

You will also conduct supervisions, support team development, and liaise with families and healthcare professionals while upholding Belong’s values and policies.

Qualifications

  • NVQ Level 3 in Health & Social Care (or working towards).
  • Experience working within an adult social care setting.
  • Experience administering medication.
  • Experience leading, supervising or mentoring care colleagues.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.
  • A caring, compassionate and person-centred approach.
  • Ability to work the required shift pattern, including alternate weekends.

Responsibilities

At Belong Birkdale, we’re looking for a compassionate and motivated Team Lead to join our dedicated team. As a Team Lead, you will play a key role in the day-to-day running of one of our households, supporting colleagues to deliver outstanding care while ensuring our customers enjoy a fulfilling, independent and meaningful life.

Working Pattern

Full time hours and requires flexibility to work a combination of:

  • 8:00am to 3:00pm shifts
  • 3:00pm to 10:0pm shifts
  • Alternate weekends, including both Saturday and Sunday
What You’ll Be Doing

About You

We’re looking for someone who is passionate about delivering excellent care and supporting others to be their best.

Essential
  • NVQ Level 3 in Health & Social Care (or working towards).
  • Experience working within an adult social care setting.
  • Experience administering medication.
  • Experience leading, supervising or mentoring care colleagues.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.
  • A caring, compassionate and person‑centred approach.
  • Ability to work the required shift pattern, including alternate weekends.
Desirable
  • Experience supporting older people living with dementia.
  • Previous experience as a Senior Support Worker, Team Leader or similar role.
  • Knowledge of safeguarding and best practice within care services.
