Job summary

OUTWARD HOUSING is seeking a Team Manager for Elder Extra Care schemes in Hackney and Camden. Lead staff, deliver housing-related support and ensure tenancy sustainment with safeguarding focus.

You will manage day-to-day housing processes, build strong relationships with residents and partners, and monitor budgets while aligning with policy and values. Evening/on‑call cover may be required.

Qualifications

• At least one year’s experience of managing staff.
• Experience of recruiting, supervising, developing and supporting teams.
• Experience delivering services that meet contract requirements and quality standards.
• Knowledge of housing-related support, tenancy sustainment, rent arrears, anti-social behaviour, repairs and health and safety processes.
• Good understanding of safeguarding, risk management and support planning for adults at risk.
• Strong relationship-building skills and the confidence to work with residents, colleagues, families, commissioners and partner agencies.
• Clear written communication, numeracy, organisational and IT skills.
• Commitment to equality, diversity, inclusion and continuous improvement.
• A Level 5 qualification in health and social care, housing, management or related field, or willingness to work towards one.

Responsibilities

• Lead, motivate and support staff across Elder Extra Care schemes, ensuring guidance, supervision and development.
• Champion person-centred support that promotes independence, choice, safety, wellbeing and dignity for older residents.
• Oversee support planning, tenancy sustainment, risk management, safeguarding, resident involvement and partnership working.
• Manage day‑to‑day housing and property management processes, including voids, lettings, rent and service charge arrears, repairs, health and safety checks, cleanliness and building security.
• Build strong working relationships with residents, colleagues, commissioners, local authorities, families and partner agencies.
• Monitor budgets, service charge expenditure, performance information, complaints, records, audits and inspections.
• Ensure the service is delivered in line with Outward's policies, procedures, contractual requirements and values.
• Provide frontline management cover when needed, including some evenings, weekends, bank holidays and participation in on‑call arrangements.
