Job summary

Vertas Group is seeking a proactive Team Leader to supervise the Meals at Home distribution service from Rainworth, NG21 0HJ. You will lead daily operations, oversee staff, and ensure high-quality customer care for vulnerable community members, while maintaining safety and service standards.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Plan and coordinate deployment of staff for meal distribution rounds.
• Supervise pick and pack and driving teams; provide training and support.
• Monitor staff performance and keep records for audits and reviews.
• Communicate effectively with managers, suppliers and customers.
• Arrange maintenance of vehicles, plant and equipment; ensure compliance.
• Monitor vehicle hygiene and conduct driving licence checks.
• Respond to emergencies and support drivers on routes.
• Conduct risk assessments and implement risk reduction actions.
• Participate in weekend on-call rota and emergency callouts.
• Support senior colleagues with wider service responsibilities.

About the Role

Based at Rainworth, NG21 0HJ, you will work 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday.

This is an exciting opportunity to lead and support the Meals at Home distribution service, ensuring vulnerable members of the community receive a reliable and high quality service. You will be responsible for supervising daily operations, supporting staff, maintaining compliance standards and ensuring excellent customer care across the service.

Your Responsibilities Will Include

• Planning and coordinating the deployment of staff for meal distribution rounds
• Supervising pick and pack and driving teams, providing training, guidance and support
• Monitoring staff performance and maintaining records for audits and service reviews
• Communicating effectively with managers, suppliers and customers
• Arranging maintenance of vehicles, plant and equipment and ensuring compliance standards are met
• Monitoring vehicle hygiene standards and completing driving licence checks
• Responding to emergency incidents and supporting drivers on delivery routes
• Conducting risk assessments and implementing actions to reduce risks
• Participating in the weekend on call rota and emergency call outs
• Supporting senior colleagues with wider service responsibilities as required

Who Are We Looking For?

• Previous experience in a leadership or supervisory role
• Must have experience of working to food hygiene and health and safety standards and be willing to undertake further training as required
• Experience within food services, logistics, transport or customer focused environments
• Strong organisational and leadership skills
• Good IT skills for record keeping and service monitoring
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• A flexible and adaptable approach to meeting service needs
• NVQ Level 2 in Team Leading or willingness to work towards the qualification

Pay Rate
