Job summary

Harley House Supported Living in Clacton-on-Sea is seeking a dedicated Team Leader to oversee day and night shifts. You will lead a team of Support Workers to deliver high-quality, person-centred care and maintain safety, dignity, and inclusion for residents with learning disabilities and complex needs.

• Experience supporting people with learning disabilities and complex needs.
• Experience supporting behaviours that challenge.
• Previous experience in a senior support worker or team leader role or demonstrated leadership potential.
• Confident in leading and motivating others.
• Physically and emotionally resilient.
• Positive, enthusiastic and highly motivated.
• Able to stay calm in challenging situations.
• Excellent communication, organisational and problem-solving skills.
• Commitment to learning and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support a team of Support Workers to deliver person-centred support.
• Act as a positive role model, promoting best practice and professional standards.
• Ensure care and support plans, risk assessments, and positive behaviour support strategies are implemented.
• Support the individual with daily living activities, community access, and meaningful engagement.
• Promote independence, choice, dignity, and inclusion.
• Safely support behaviours that may challenge.
• Monitor, review, and contribute to support documentation and reporting.
• Assist with staff supervision, mentoring, induction, and development.
• Support rota management and shift coordination as required.
• Collaborate with family, healthcare professionals and external agencies to achieve positive outcomes.
• Ensure compliance with policies and regulatory requirements.
