Job summary

Harley House Supported Living is seeking experienced Support Workers to help people live independently and with dignity. You will support planning, community participation, cooking, shopping and personal care, while maintaining records and safeguarding.

Driving licence is essential and visa sponsorship is not available. Role offers full-time hours across day and night shifts in Clacton-on-Sea, Ipswich and Great Bentley, with ongoing training and a supportive team environment.

Qualifications

• Previous care or support experience is essential.

Responsibilities

• Support people to live as independently as possible and make their own choices and decisions.
• Follow individual support plans, risk assessments and agreed care approaches.
• Promote dignity, respect, choice, independence and positive risk-taking.
• Support people to access the local community and participate in work, leisure, social, religious and cultural activities.
• Support with cooking, shopping and maintaining a clean and comfortable home.
• Provide personal care when required, including washing, bathing, shaving and toileting.
• Support people with their health and administer prescribed medication in accordance with training and procedures.
• Support people to achieve their individual goals and ambitions.
• Assist with the management of finances where required.
• Maintain accurate daily records using our digital care recording system.
• Act as a key worker and contribute to reviews of the experiences and quality of life of the people you support.
• Participate in daily handovers and communicate important information to colleagues.
• Recognise and report changes in people's needs.
• Record and elevate accidents, incidents, near misses and safeguarding concerns.
• Work positively and professionally as part of a team.
• Follow all organisational policies, procedures and safeguarding requirements.
