Job summary

Embrace Care in Chester is seeking a Senior Support Worker / Team Leader to lead shifts, support colleagues and deliver outstanding care for children and young people. The Retreat Short Breaks & Day Service, Chester, offers progression into management and paid induction, with DBS checks and safeguarding requirements clearly stated.

The Retreat Short Breaks & Day Service, Chester

Are you an experienced Support Worker or Senior Residential Childcare Worker, with a qualification in Residential childcare, looking to take the next step in your career?

The Retreat is a specialist Short Breaks and Day Service supporting children and young people with additional needs such as EBD, SEMH, LD or Autism. We're looking for a motivated Senior Support Worker to help lead shifts, support colleagues, and ensure outstanding care is delivered every day.

What You'll Do

• Lead shifts and support the day-to-day running of the service.
• Provide high-quality, child-centred care and support.
• Coach and mentor team members, including new starters.
• Promote positive outcomes, independence and wellbeing for the children we support.
• Ensure care plans, safeguarding procedures and risk assessments are followed.
• Maintain accurate records and support service quality standards.

What We're Looking For

• Experience supporting children and young people in residential care or short breaks.
• Previous senior or leadership experience is essential.
• Strong knowledge of safeguarding and person-centred care.
• Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare is essential
