Job summary

Embrace Care Ltd in Chester is seeking a Senior Support Worker / Team Leader to help lead shifts and deliver high-quality, child-centred care for young people with additional needs. The role offers leadership development and progression into management, with enhanced checks and ongoing training.

You will oversee care delivery, support staff, and ensure safeguarding and record-keeping standards are met, while promoting independence and wellbeing for the children served.

The Retreat Short Breaks & Day Service, Chester

£15.25 per hour | Full-Time | Permanent

Are you an experienced Support Worker or Senior Residential Childcare Worker, with a qualification in Residential childcare, looking to take the next step in your career?

The Retreat is a specialist Short Breaks and Day Service supporting children and young people with additional needs such as EBD, SEMH, LD or Autism. We're looking for a motivated Senior Support Worker to help lead shifts, support colleagues, and ensure outstanding care is delivered every day.

What You'll Do

• Lead shifts and support the day-to-day running of the service.
• Provide high-quality, child-centred care and support.
• Coach and mentor team members, including new starters.
• Promote positive outcomes, independence and wellbeing for the children we support.
• Ensure care plans, safeguarding procedures and risk assessments are followed.

What We're Looking For

• Experience supporting children and young people in residential care or short breaks.
• Previous senior or leadership experience is essential.
• Strong knowledge of safeguarding and person-centred care.
• Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare is essential
