Job summary

Heart of England Co-operative Society is seeking a Team Leader for our Warwick area Food Convenience Stores (39 hours per week). You will lead a team, manage shifts, and drive customer service excellence to establish the store as the go-to in the community.

You'll develop colleagues, support onboarding, and help the store hit targets, with a clear progression path toward Store Management. This hands-on leadership role requires initiative and a customer-focused mindset.

• Experience in retail or a fast-paced customer environment.
• Supervisory or leadership experience (or ready to step up).
• Commercial awareness and confidence working towards targets.

Team Leader – Step Into Store Leadership

We’re looking for aTeam Leaderfor our Food Convenience Stores covering the Warwickarea(39 hours per week).

This is your opportunity to move beyond a standard retail role and take real ownership—leading a team, driving performance, and building the skills to progress into Store Management.

What You’ll Be Doing

As a Team Leader, you’ll take responsibility for key areas of the store and step up to run the operation in the absence of the Store Manager.

You’ll:

• Lead, coach and develop your team to deliver strong performance
• Take ownership of shifts, includingopening and closing the store
• Drive excellent customer service and make us thego-to store in the community
• Support recruitment, training and onboarding of new colleagues
• Manage performance, attendance and team engagement
• Control key commercial areas includingwaste, stock and labour
• Maintain high standards across availability, merchandising and compliance

This is a hands-on leadership role where you’ll be expected tolead from the front and make decisions that impact the store’s success.

About You

• Experience in retail or a fast-paced customer environment
• Previous supervisory or leadership experience (or ready to step up)
• Commercial awareness and confidence working towards targets
• A natural motivator who can get the best out of people
• Organised, resilient and comfortable taking ownership
