Aneurin Bevan University Health Board supports flexible working.

There is a temporary top-up for Bands 2 and 3 reflecting the incorporation of the top-up to the living wage of £12.60 per hour (£24,638 per annum). This will be in place until the annual pay uplift for 2025/26 is confirmed.

An exciting opportunity has arisen in the ABUHB Occupational Therapy (OT) service for a Team Lead Occupational Therapist, who is self-motivated, proactive, and capable of developing care pathways and innovative working methods for the OT service. The role offers a great chance to enhance your skills within a supportive, fast-paced learning environment.

Main duties of the job
  • Applicants should possess strong clinical and decision-making skills, demonstrating a broad and deep ability to work with individuals with high clinical frailty scores.
  • Excellent communication skills, initiative, and flexibility are essential. You must be confident and effective in delivering OT interventions in the most appropriate setting, ensuring they meet the person's needs and uphold standards of safe, compassionate, high-quality care.
  • Knowledge of Welsh language is desirable; applications from Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcomed.

Qualifications and Knowledge

Essential criteria

  • Degree or diploma in Occupational Therapy
  • Member of HCPC
  • At least one module (CQFW level 7, 20/30 credits) or equivalent post-registration practice linked to clinical practice
  • Accredited practice placement educator
  • Certificate in Leadership and/or Management

Desirable criteria

  • Member of relevant COT Specialist Section
Experience

Essential criteria

  • Extensive experience in practice settings
  • Some operational management experience
  • Significant experience at Senior OT level
  • Involvement in planning local service delivery
  • Supervising less experienced OTs

Desirable criteria

  • Line management responsibilities

  • Ability to assess, plan, and implement highly specialised treatments
