Job summary

University of Bristol in Bristol welcomes applications for a Core Facilities Technician in Teaching and Research within the School of Psychology and Neuroscience. The role provides specialist technical support, training and guidance on software, equipment and laboratory safety to staff and students.

You will develop and run software and hardware workshops for UG and PGT cohorts, assist in research and teaching activities, and ensure compliance with Health and Safety and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

• Relevant technical skills or work experience in Psychology and Neuroscience.
• Understanding of psychology teaching and research laboratory environments.
• Knowledge of health and safety regulations and safe working practices.

Responsibilities

• Hold delegated responsibility for Health and Safety tasks and SOPs.
• Support psychology research labs across the Priory Road complex and Biomedical Sciences Building.
• Assist in development, programming and use of specialised equipment and software.
• Deliver workshops and induction talks for UG, PGT and PGR students.
• Maintain laboratory equipment bookings and maintenance records.
• Provide IT/AV helpdesk support to staff and students.
