Job summary

Brunel University London invites applications for a Senior Technician (Biosciences) at the Uxbridge campus. You will support teaching and research in the Department of Biosciences, preparing stock solutions, cell lines and consumables, and providing technical guidance to students and staff.

You should hold a biological sciences degree or equivalent, with at least two years’ HE teaching lab experience. RSciTech registration or progress toward it, plus First Aid at Work and PAT qualifications (or

Qualifications

Degree in biological sciences or substantial equivalent experience.
At least two years’ laboratory-based teaching experience in higher education.
Science Council RSciTech registration or progress toward it within 12 months.
First Aid at Work and Portable Appliance Testing qualifications, or willingness to undertake training.

Responsibilities

Support teaching and research within the Biosciences laboratories.
Prepare stock solutions, cell lines, biological samples, equipment and consumables.
Provide technical guidance and demonstrations to students and staff.
Manage laboratory stock and procurement; arrange servicing and maintenance.
