Job summary

University of Chester is seeking a Laboratory Support Technician to help run and support teaching laboratories within the Division of Medical Sciences. Based at Exton Park Campus, you will maintain equipment, manage inventories and assist with day-to-day lab operations to deliver high-quality practical learning and support research activities.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate degree in Biomedical Science or related field.
• Experience with core laboratory techniques (biochemistry, microbiology, genetics, immunology, haematology, histopathology).
• Knowledge of laboratory health and safety practices.

Responsibilities

• Maintain laboratory health and safety standards.
• Facilitate taught practical classes at undergraduate and postgraduate level.
• Perform routine maintenance and testing of laboratory equipment.
• Complete inventories and audits of consumables, chemicals and equipment.
• Provide administrative support including procurement and bookings.
• Support student recruitment activities such as Open Days and Outreach.
