Job summary

Newcastle Bridges School in Newcastle upon Tyne seeks Teaching and Learning Assistants to join our team, with both permanent and fixed-term contracts. You will support pupils with medical and mental health needs and help them access a full education in partnership with staff.

You will provide classroom assistance, lead groups as directed by teachers, and respond positively to unexpected situations. Safeguarding and further information are provided in the job description.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 DfE recognised Teaching Assistant, SEND Assistant, EYFS or Childcare qualification or higher qualification with relevant experience
• Experience of advancing progress of pupils within a learning environment
• The ability to work constructively as part of a team and with a flexible approach to work

Responsibilities

• Provide classroom support to pupils in close collaboration with teachers, other school staff and supporting professionals
• Lead, as planned and directed by the teacher, with whole group, individual or small groups of pupils
• Respond positively and effectively to unexpected problems and situations
