Job summary

TeacherActive are supporting a mainstream secondary school in Merthyr Tydfil to recruit a Learning Support Assistant. The role involves providing 1:1 support to pupils across KS3 and KS4, assisting with lesson activities and helping to keep pupils engaged in the classroom.

The position is long-term with an immediate start, paid on a PAYE basis. You will work closely with teaching staff, contribute to positive behaviour management and benefit from CPD courses and market-leading rates of pay.

Qualifications

• Experience in a mainstream secondary school
• Experience providing 1:1 support to KS3/KS4 pupils
• Excellent communication and behaviour management skills

Responsibilities

TeacherActive is proud to be working with a mainstream secondary school based in Merthyr Tydfil, supporting pupils across Key Stage 3 / KS3 and Key Stage 4 / KS4. The school is looking to appoint a dedicated Learning Support Assistant on a long-term basis with an immediate start. The successful Learning Support Assistant will be providing 1:1 support to pupils within the classroom, assisting with lesson activities, managing behaviour and working closely with teaching staff to ensure pupils remain engaged and motivated throughout the school day.

The successful Learning Support Assistant will have:

• Experience working with children and young people in a mainstream secondary school
• Experience providing 1:1 support to pupils across KS3 and KS4
• Strong classroom and behaviour management skills
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively alongside teaching staff
• A caring, patient and nurturing approach with a willingness to adapt to individual learning needs
