Job summary

TeacherActive Ltd is supporting a mainstream secondary school in Merthyr Tydfil to recruit a Learning Support Assistant for a long-term, on-site role with an immediate start. You will provide 1:1 support to pupils across KS3 and KS4, assist with lesson activities and help manage behaviour while working closely with teaching staff to keep students engaged and progressing throughout the school day.

Level 2 or Level 3 TA qualifications are desirable, and you will join a dedicated consultant team

Qualifications

• Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification desirable.
• Experience with children and young people in a mainstream secondary school.
• Experience providing 1:1 support to KS3/KS4 pupils.
• Strong classroom and behaviour management skills.
• Excellent communication and teamwork with teaching staff.
• Caring, patient and nurturing approach to learning needs.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 support to pupils within the classroom.
• Assist with lesson activities and adapt materials as needed.
• Support behaviour management and pupil engagement throughout the day.

The school is looking to appoint a dedicated Learning Support Assistant on a long-term basis with an immediate start. The successful Learning Support Assistant will be providing 1:1 support to pupils within the classroom, assisting with lesson activities, managing behaviour and working closely with teaching staff to ensure pupils remain engaged and motivated throughout the school day.

The successful Learning Support Assistant will have:

• Experience working with children and young people in a mainstream secondary school
• Experience providing 1:1 support to pupils across KS3 and KS4
• Strong classroom and behaviour management skills
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively alongside teaching staff
• A caring, patient and nurturing approach with a willingness to adapt to individual learning needs
