Job summary

Provide Education- South Yorkshire is recruiting a dedicated SEND Teaching Assistant to support a Year 4 pupil with 1:1 SEND needs in Doncaster (DN3). The role runs full-time from September, with an emphasis on accessing learning and fostering positive relationships throughout the school day.

The successful candidate will be calm, patient and capable of handling challenging behaviours while contributing to the pupil’s emotional wellbeing and overall progress.

Qualifications

  • Experience supporting children with SEND and/or challenging behaviour.
  • Skilled in providing individualised 1:1 support throughout the school day.
  • Calm, patient and resilient approach to behavioural challenges.
  • Ability to build trusting relationships with pupils and staff.

Responsibilities

  • Provide 1:1 support to a Year 4 pupil to access learning.
  • Support emotional wellbeing and manage behavioural challenges as needed.
  • Collaborate with teaching staff to implement inclusive strategies.
  • Help monitor pupil progress and raise concerns with the team.

Year 4 SEND Teaching Assistant - 1:1 Support

Doncaster (DN3) | Full-Time | September Start

Provide Education is currently recruiting for a dedicated and resilient SEND Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming school in the DN3 area of Doncaster from September.

The successful candidate will provide 1:1 support to a Year 4 pupil, helping them to access learning, develop positive relationships and manage challenges throughout the school day.

The pupil can present with challenging behaviour and mental health needs, so we are looking for someone who is calm, patient and confident in supporting children who may require additional emotional and behavioural support.

The ideal candidate will:
  • Have experience working with children with SEND and/or challenging behaviour
  • Be confident providing 1:1 support
  • Have a calm, patient and consistent approach
  • Be able to build a strong, trusting relationship with the pupil
  • Understand the importance of supporting emotional wellbeing and mental health
  • Be resilient and able to remain calm in challenging situations
  • Work effectively as part of a wider school team
The role:

Location: DN3, Doncaster

Start: September

Hours: Full-time, Monday-Friday

Year group: Year 4

Support: 1:1 SEND

Duration: Ongoing / full academic year
