Teaching Assistant with British Sign Language (BSL) - Birmingham

Axcis Education is seeking a highly motivated teaching assistant with fluent British Sign Language (BSL) skills for a full-time, ongoing role at an excellent mainstream primary school in Birmingham. The school features a deaf learning resource base and promotes BSL learning across the entire school, supporting children aged 4-11 years.

The ideal candidate will possess a Level 3 qualification in BSL (or higher) and have experience supporting children with diverse needs, including SEND, Autism, SEMH, and mental health difficulties. They must be eligible to work in the UK.

Responsibilities:

1. Supporting children with learning difficulties to access the curriculum.
2. Working within the main school to support inclusive education.

Requirements:

• Level 3 certificate in British Sign Language or higher
• Previous classroom support experience
• Experience supporting children with SEND, Autism, SEMH, or mental health needs
• Fluent skills in British Sign Language
• Eligibility to work in the UK
