Teaching Personnel Ltd. is recruiting a dedicated SEMH Teaching Assistant to join a small specialist provision in Lancaster (LA2). The role supports pupils with SEMH needs in a trauma-informed setting and runs full-time, term-time only, from October half-term.

You will work 8:30am–3:00pm, Monday to Friday, with a chance for permanent appointment. A calm, patient approach and experience with trauma-informed support are essential; a full UK driving licence is required due to location.

SEMH Teaching Assistant - Lancaster (LA2)

A small, specialist SEMH provision in the Lancaster (LA2) area is looking to appoint an additional Teaching Assistant to join their dedicated team from October half-term. This is a rewarding opportunity to support children and young people who require a nurturing, trauma-informed approach to education. The setting provides a safe and supportive environment for pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs..

The Role
  • Full-time, Monday to Friday
  • Hours: 8:30am - 3:00pm
  • Term-time only
  • Starting from October half-term
  • Long-term position with the potential to become permanent

  • Understand the impact of trauma on behaviour and learning
  • Be confident building positive relationships and boundaries
  • Be passionate about supporting vulnerable young people to achieve positive outcomes
Essential Requirements
  • Previous experience supporting SEMH needs
  • A trauma-informed approach to supporting learners
  • Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle due to the location of the provision

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
