Job summary

Beacon Hill School is seeking a part-time Teaching Assistant to support learners during term time. The role runs from 8:15am to 3:30pm, 3 or 4 days per week, with safeguarding responsibilities and a focus on helping every pupil reach their potential.

Ideal candidates will have GCSEs in English and Maths and relevant TA qualifications, plus a genuine commitment to supporting children’s development in a collaborative school environment.

Qualifications

• GCSE English and Maths at Grade C/4 or above.
• Relevant childcare or teaching assistant qualifications (NVQ 2/3) are highly desirable.
• Experience with children or young people in education settings preferred.
• Excellent communication and safeguarding commitment.

Responsibilities

• Assist class teachers with materials and activities.
• Support pupils 1-on-1 or in small groups in literacy and numeracy.
• Adapt learning activities for SEN or additional learning needs.
• Maintain a positive classroom environment and follow school policies.
• Supervise during breaks and school outings as needed.
• Provide feedback on pupil progress to teachers.
