Job summary

Meadowfield Primary School in Leeds is seeking a caring Teaching Assistant (SEND) to support children with additional needs and help them thrive during term-time. The role is part-time, 27.5 hours per week plus 3.75 hours as Midday Supervisory Assistant (MSA), Monday to Friday, 8:45am-3:15pm.

You will work within our SEND team, alongside experienced colleagues and under the SENDCo and Assistant Headteacher, delivering enriching activities, promoting independence and confidence, and helping

  • Experience of supporting the wellbeing and development of children and young people.
  • Compassionate, patient and adaptable with understanding that every child is unique.
  • Clear and effective communication with strong organisational skills.

Responsibilities

  • Support children with additional needs to build confidence and independence.
  • Provide Midday Supervisory Assistant duties during lunchtimes.
  • Collaborate with the SEND team and SENDCo to deliver enriching activities.

The role also includes Midday Supervisory Assistant (MSA) duties, supporting pupils during lunchtime and helping to create a safe, positive and inclusive environment throughout the school day.

You will be part of a supportive SEND team, working alongside experienced colleagues and benefiting from guidance from our SENDCo and Assistant Headteacher. We work closely together, sharing knowledge, celebrating achievements and ensuring every member of the team feels valued and supported. Our SEND team delivers a range of enriching activities tailored to children's individual needs and interests, including sensory exploration, outdoor learning, cooking and life skills sessions. We are committed to ensuring all children can fully participate in school life, making adaptations where needed so that everyone can enjoy whole-school events, trips and enrichment opportunities.
