Job summary

Veritas Education is seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to support pupils with SEN in a KS1 classroom at a rural Garstang primary school. The role runs full-time, Monday to Friday, 08:30am–3:30pm, with an immediate start.

You will work 1:1 and in small groups, assisting the teacher and helping pupils’ social, emotional, and academic development. Experience with SEN and knowledge of conditions such as ASD/ADHD is desirable.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting children with SEN in schools or similar settings.
• Knowledge of ASD, ADHD, speech and language difficulties, or SEMH desirable.
• Patient, caring and adaptable approach.

Veritas Education is working in partnership with a welcoming and supportive rural primary school in the Garstang area to recruit a dedicated Teaching Assistant to support pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN) within Key Stage 1.

This is a full-time, long-term opportunity for someone who is passionate about helping children overcome barriers to learning and achieve their full potential in a nurturing school environment.

The Role

• Full-time position, Monday to Friday
• Working hours: 08:30am - 3:30pm
• Supporting pupils with SEN in a KS1 classroom
• Providing 1:1 and small group interventions
• Assisting the class teacher with learning activities and classroom management
• Supporting pupils' social, emotional, and academic development
• Immediate start available

The Ideal Candidate

• Experience supporting children with SEN, either in schools or similar settings
• Knowledge of additional needs such as ASD, ADHD, speech and language difficulties, or SEMH is desirable
• Patient, caring, and adaptable approach
• Able to build positive relationships with pupils, staff, and parents
• Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification desirable, but not essential
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one
